Faith and Reverence In The Real Presence

November 9, 2023Since Father Robert Pittman’s stroke, I celebrated the Mass at the Body of Christ Farm Chapel, St. Julian Eymard at 7:30 am, every First Thursday of the month. After Mass, we had a full Holy Hour of Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and then Benediction. Before Benediction we prayed the following Act of Faith in the Real Presence: “Lord Jesus Christ, I believe You are as truly present in this Holy Sacrament, under the signs of bread and wine, as you were when dying upon the cross for the salvation of all mankind, or as you are now enthroned in Glory in Heaven at the right hand of the Father.” You said that you would give us yourself as the Bread of Life, which, if we eat, we shall live forever. I believe this truth because you are truth itself. With confidence in your loving forgiveness therefore, I approach your altar, conscious that my unworthiness to receive you is outweighed by your desire to be united with my soul. You desire to nourish it on its earthly pilgrimage, until the day when I shall be with you in the eternal banquet, to feed on the unveiled beauty of your presence forever.”
This is our faith! We believe that at every Mass the bread and wine are truly changed into the Body and Blood of Christ. This is today’s greatest miracle happening at every Mass. This is our belief, this is our Faith! At every Mass we hear Jesus tell us: “Take this, all of you! And eat of it, for this is my body which will be given up for you.”
Since our First Holy Communion, we believe in the Real Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist. What a joy! when the priest of Deacon tells you “The Body of Christ” your “Amen” is your short Act of Faith! Amen means I believe, yes this is truly the Body of Christ!
Let us all receive the Eucharist with utmost reverence! We are receiving Jesus, who is God. First, you bow in a sign of respect for God. If you are wearing a mask, remove it before approaching the priest. You can receive on the tongue or in the hand, put your left hand (if you are right- handed) on top of your right hand, making a “cup” prepared to receive Jesus. Upon receiving the Eucharist in your left hand, then you take the Host with your right hand and reverently put it in your mouth, immediately and reverently consuming the Host before stepping away from the priest to either next receive the Precious Blood or to return to your seat. Remember, this is the precious Body of our Lord you hold within your hands. This is why your hands form a cup, a cup of protection.
Also, remember you can receive the Host only if you are in a state of grace, meaning if you have committed any grave/mortal sin, you should have already received forgiveness by going to confession. When returning to your seat, remain recollected. Take some time to talk to Jesus, to thank Him and to listen to Him, in silence.

With a firm Love, I will love You with all my heart while on earth and continue to Love you perfectly during all eternity. Amen.”

FEY REVERENCIA EN LA PRESENCIA REAL
Desde que Padre Robert Pittman tuvo el derrame cerebral, yo he celebrado la Misa en la Capilla Padre Julian Eymard de la Granja El Cuerpo de Cristo a las 7:30 am, cada Primer Viernes del mes. Despues de Misa, tenemos una hora completa de adoracion con el Santisimo Sacramento con la Bendicion. Antes de la bendicion siempre rezamos la siguiente
Accion de Fe en la Presencia Real: “Senor Jesucristo, yo creo que tu estas verdaderamente en este Santisimo Sacramento, bajo la forma de pan y vino, como cuando estabas muriendo en la cruz por la salvacion de toda la humanidad, asi como ahora estas en el trono en Gloria en el Cielo a la diestra del Padre.” Tu dijiste que te darias a Ti mismo como el Pan de Vida, el cual, si lo comemos, viviremos para siempre. Yo creo esta verdad porque Tu eres la verdad en si mismo. Con confianza en Tu amoroso perdon, me acerco a Tu altar, conciente de lo insignificante que soy de recibirte pero Tu deseo de estar unido a mi alma es mayor. Tu deseo de alimentarme en este perinaje terrenal, hasta el dia en que este contigo en el banquete eterno, alimentado con la belleza descubierta de Tu presencia para siempre.”Esta es nuestra Fe! Creemos que en cada Misa el pan y el vino cambian verdadera y completamente en el Cuerpo y Sangre de Cristo. Este es el Milagro mas grande que sucede hoy en cada Misa. Esta es nuestra creencia, es nuestra Fe! En cada Misa oimos decir a Jesus: “Tomen esto, todos ustedes! Y Comanlo, porque este es mi cuerpo que sera entregado por ustedes.”
Desde nuestra santa Primera Comunion, creemos en la Presencia Real de Jesus en la Eucaristia. Que Alegria! Cuando el Sacerdote o el Diacono dice “El Cuerpo de Cristo” tu “Amen” es su Accion corta de Fe! Amen significa Yo creo, verdaderamente es el Cuerpo de Cristo!
Recibamos la Eucaristia con suma reverencia! Estamos recibiendo a Jesus quien es Dios. Primero, usted se inclina en senal de respeto a Dios. Si esta usando mascarilla, quitesela antes de acercarce al sacerdote. Usted puede recibirla en la lengua o en la mano. Si la recibe en la mano, ponga su mano izquierda (si usted derecho) encima de su mano derecha, formando una “copa” preparada para recibir a Jesus. Cuando reciba la Eucaristia en su mano izquierda, tomela Hostia con su mano derecha y con mucha reverencia pongala en su boca, de inmediato y con gran reverencia consuma la Hostia antes de irse o ir a recibir la Preciosa sangre o regresar a su lugar. Recuerde, este es el Precioso Cuerpo de nuestro senor, que lleva en sus manos. Por eso sus manos forman una copa, una copa de proteccion.
Tambien, recuerde que esta recibiendo la hostia solamente si esta en estado de Gracia , lo que significa que si ha cometido cualquier pecado grave/o mortal, tiene que haber ido a pedir su perdon iyendo a confesion. Cuando regrese a su lugar, permanezca de rodillas. Tome un tiempo para hablar con Jesus, Agradecerle y escucharle, en silencio.
“Quedate conmigo Senor, porque solo a Ti te busco, tu amor, tu Gracia, tu voluntad, tu corazon, tu espiritu porque te amo y no pido mas que amarte mas y mas. Con un amor firme, amarte con todo mi corazon mientras que este en la tierra y continue amandote perfectamente durante toda la eternidad. Amen.” (parte de la Oracion de Padre Pio para despues de recibir la Eucaristia)
