Voters will decide if abortion will become a constitutional right via a November 2024 ballot referendum. Abortion already is legal through nine months and is publicly funded (in 2020, Maryland taxes paid for nearly 10,000 abortions). The law could quell efforts to put meaningful protections in place for women and girls. Voter education will be paramount.
Maryland Senate leadership announced the votes aren't there to pass a bill legalizing physician assisted suicide in our state. Thank you for your prayers, phone calls and emails to the MD Senators and Delgates! We will keep you posted as the bill is expected to be brought up again for another vote later in the year.
We ask that you now take action: Tell Legislators NO to Human Composting
Tell Senate and House committees: NO to SB 1028/HB 1168.
These bills would allow human remains to be composted into soil or turned into wastewater via a process called alkaline hydrolysis. This does not respect the dignity of the human body....
